Iraqi Officials Visit Camp Coleman

The US Today. Dated Tuesday, June 28, 2005 said, "The US Military said Monday that it plans to expand its prisons across Iraq to hold as many as 16000 detainees," and of course FCC Coleman was selected as the "model" complex to be shown to the Iraqis officials. A week before their visit, the authorities ordered us to wax, paint and/or wash everything to made our prison look like a spotless heavenly prison (unrealistic). I wish for a second that those visitors know the stress that those visits cause us, on top of feeling like animals in a zoo when they walk around looking the prison and the prisoners. Since those visits are so stressful I always try to be funny with my fellow prisoners to alleviate the tension, and I started joking saying that the Iraqis women do not know anything about wax (in prison they made us wax everything-- even the air) and that the authorities probably will allow us to go to Iraq-Prison to show the Iraqis prisoners how to do wax. The ladies laughed and started talking and had fun; then a big black lady said to another, "My friend do you know who is coming tomorrow?" The second lady answered, “Who?" The first one said, "Osama Bin Laden." The second one said, "Who is he?" A third one sitting on a top bunk said, "a drug seller." Everybody laughed. It was very funny; but the sad part is that US is not only exporting its prison designs, but also prison labor ideas. Something to think and/or write about it.
